Lighting Design Concept
There is only one season which is summer but its a rainy, humid, cloudy day.
The air is dry and the ground is moist. Through-out the entire play it goes through
the whole day, starting with a bright glowing day then leading into a stormy sunset
and ending with a pouring rain, dark, night. The stage is a turning circle but has
two floors there really is never one spot that most of the action takes place.
There are two i can narrow down for you which will be, Downstage Right and
Upstage Left. There will be light sources on stage there will be a very old in day
lamp in the beginning of act one. The lamp will have a dim light. In the play there
are some special lighting effects required. There will have to be a lightning/flashing, a
sort of glow look, a change of spot light, and color of lights through-out the play.
The mood of this entire play is supposed to make you feel terrified, scared, but
with a sense of suspense and thrill. But the actors on the stage will not be well-lit,
In the beginning there will be a glow from the window shining on the main
character. But the rest of the play will have a dull lighting.
